Food tastes better when it’s shared. And if you’ve never shared a manousheh (traditional Lebanese flatbread), you’re in for a real, hunger-busting treat, because The Levant Bakery’s oven-centric menu is almost entirely devoted to the region’s doughy delights.

In the Levant, the local baker is the heart of the community, bringing people together to enjoy meals filled with rich and historic flavour. Here at Harrods, the bakers do this by hand-selecting fresh, authentic manousheh toppings with a modern twist that range from savoury to sweet – from baked eggs, confit lamb mince, sumac and mint, to sweet carob, tahini and caramelised almonds.

You’ll also find a few gourmet exclusives in this Fourth Floor bakery. Think falafel with fava bean and chickpea spread, radishes, pickled turnip tomato, rocket, mint, parsley, fresh dill and tarator sauce. And chicken taouk with romaine lettuce, red cabbage, pickles and basterma yogurt sauce.

Of course, no Lebanese feast is complete without accompanying sides, which is why the menu also offers the likes of kibbeh, fattoush salad, hummus and baba ghanouj, as well as a selection of Mouajjanet (bite-sized bakes). And to drink, don’t miss the caramel-date latte and homemade lemonade.
